Tot ne plangem ca martisoarele din ziua de azi ne dezamagesc crunt pentru ca este dificil sa te plimbi cu cana prinsa in piept sau cu un ursulet de plus spanzurat de incheietura. Asa ca poate, daca avem ceva timp la dispozitie cat sa facem rost de cateva materiale folositoare si ne mai simtim indemanateci si vrednici de ceva aventuri in lumea lucrului manual nivel de clasa a cincea, atunci poate ne apucam de facut martisoare.

- hartie creponata, clasata colorata
- flori si frunze uscate
- scoici sau bucati de scoici
- carton, panza, bucatele de sticla colorata

De cate ori nu ti-ai dorit sa oferi persoanelor dragi un Martisor deosebit, unul care sa le dezmorteasca cu adevarat din frigul iernii ce tocmai a trecut, in acelasi timp demonstrandu-ti constiincios veleitatile artistice?
Ai acum ocazia sa pui in practica tot ce ai invatat vrand - nevrand la lectiile de lucru manual sau, de ce nu, de la tutorialele admirate recent pe internet.Astfel, la prelucrarea Martisorului pui, pe langÄ respect si dragoste, si ceva din indemanarea ta.
Daca Martisorul este pentru mama, invatatoarea sau profesoara ta, suprapune doua cartonase albe, coase un chenar cu ata colorata, iar, separat, impleteste snurul. In mijloc poti lipi o poza - daca Martisorul este pentru mama ta, sau o floare naturala/presata daca il daruiesti invatatoarei sau profesoarei.
Daca vrei sa surprinzi prin ceva mai sofisticat, poti folosi orice material, de la hartie pana la catifea si orice accesorii doresti, fara vreo limita impusa, folosind ca instrument de lucru doar imaginatia nemarginita.
Pentru un efect “WOW!” maxima, Martisoarele propriu-zise trebuie sa fie neaparat insotite si de cateva ganduri scrise. Acestea sunt, in definitiv, cele care conteaza cel mai mult si care vor fi recitite cu mult drag peste ani si ani.

Billy Powell from Lynyrd Skynyrd died

Longtime Lynyrd Skynyrd keyboardist and pianist Billy Powell has died.
Powell, 56, died early Wednesday morning. The death was initially posted on the band’s fan club web site.
Orange Park Police Chief James Boivin says Powell called 911 at 12:55 a.m. Wednesday saying he was having difficulty breathing.
Police arrived at his home and his niece answered the door. She didn’t know why police were there, but police say Powell called from his bedroom, Boivin says.
Boivin says Powell missed a Tuesday appointment with his doctor for a cardiac evaluation. Boivin says Powell died of “natural causes” and the police investigation is complete.
Powell was one of two band members, along with Gary Rossington, still active who performed with the band prior to the fatal plane crash in 1977 that killed 3 of the band’s members.

John Updike death

Prolific, two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist John Updike has died of lung cancer at the age of 76.
According to publisher Alfred A. Knopf Inc., Updike died at a hospice not far from his home in Beverly Farms, Mass.
Several of his works wound up in Hollywood hands, most notably the James Caan-starring adaptation of one his most famous books, Rabbit, Run (which earned him his first Pulitzer), and The Witches of Eastwick, which, thanks to Jack Nicholson, Cher, Michelle Pfeiffer and Susan Sarandon became a star-studded, twice Oscar-nominated affair.
The author even went on to earn the ultimate pop-culture honorâplaying himself in an episode of The Simpsons.
Updike’s final work, My Father’s Tears and Other Stories, his first collection of new short fiction since 2000, is scheduled for release on June 2.

After a career that spanned 60-some years and more than 50 books (including novels, short stories, poems, criticism, childrenâs books, essays, and a memoir) and almost every literary prize (including two Pulitzers and two National Book Awards), John Updike died today at the age of 76.
Born in Reading, Pa., in 1932, Updike was the only child of a mother who dreamed of being a writer and a father who taught high school and struggled with an inferiority complex. He attended Harvard University on a scholarship and briefly worked at The New Yorker before moving to the suburbs north of Boston.
Updikeâs best known works were the four âRabbitâ books, which, over a period of 30 years, told the story of the loves and losses of one-time high school basketball star Harry âRabbitâ Angstrom. Read the rest of this entry »

FedEx plane crash

Two crew members were taken to a hospital after a FedEx cargo plane crashed on landing Tuesday morning at the Lubbock, Texas, airport, officials said.
A damaged FedEx ATR-42 lies beside a runway early Tuesday at the Lubbock, Texas, airport.
The injuries appeared to be minor, said James Loomis, director of Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport.
There was a small fire on the plane, the Federal Aviation Administration and FedEx spokeswoman Sandra Munoz said. Munoz said she was not sure about the extent of the damage.
The plane is an ATR-42 twin-turboprop aircraft and landed short of the touchdown zone at 4:37 a.m. CT (5:47 ET), Loomis said.
Munoz said the plane had been traveling from Fort Worth Alliance Airport and skidded off the runway amid light freezing rain.
Neither official could immediately say what caused the accident, and Munoz didn’t know why parts of the plane caught fire.

First Lady Michelle Obama debuted a white floral dress from New York designer Jason Wu, 26, on Tuesday night at an Inaugural Ball.
The stunning one-strap gown was unique in First Lady fashion history.
The young fashion designer was only recently picked up by major clothing retailers, and was unaware of Obama’s choice until seeing it on television.
Maybe the First Lady’s selection will be the start of something big for Wu.
When Michelle Obama selected Jason Wu to be the designer for her inaugural ball dress, she made him a fashion star overnight. The 26-year old designer joins great American designers like James Galanos and Oscar de la Renta to have this very rare distinction.
Not every inaugural designer has gone on to great success. Remember Hillary Clintonâs designer, Sarah Phillips? Or Laura Bushâs designer, Michael Faircloth? Neither do we. But since Michelle Obama has emerged as an exciting new fashion icon, her favorite designers will quickly become household names.
So where can one buy Jason Wu in SF, you may ask?
On Tuesday evening, just moments after the world got its first peak at Michelleâs dress, Vicki Winston of Neiman Marcus in San Francisco immediately started getting text messages from clients on her cell phone asking the same thing.
âIt is like Narciso Rodriguez after he did Carolyn Bessette Kennedyâs wedding dress,â she tells us.
