Xobni is the Outlook plug-in that saves you time finding email conversations, contacts and attachments.

After a quick install, you’ll see the new Xobni toolbar appear in Outlook - and suddenly information will become much easier to find. When a new email arrives, the sender’s full communication history appears in the Xobni sidebar, including past conversations, attachments and contact details. Xobni also includes a blazing fast email search tool.

Today is an exciting day for everyone at Xobni. After seven months of invite-only beta, and over two years of product development, we’re proud to announce that Xobni is now publicly available for anyone to download.

Xobni is free and available for immediate download Xobni.

Xobni notable features:

  • Lightning fast email search
  • Threaded conversations
  • People-centric navigation
  • Expose your contacts’ email habits
  • Automatically extracted phone numbers from address book and prior email conversations
  • Easy attachment discovery
  • One click scheduling
  • Email analytics

Xobni now has ambitions that extend well beyond Microsoft Outlook. Jeff Bonforte, a 35-year-old former Yahoo vice president, joined Xobni as chief executive in February. He plans to expand Xobni’s reach to various e-mail programs, like the popular Web-based services Yahoo Mail, Google’s Gmail and Microsoft’s Hotmail as well as social networks like Facebook and Linkedin.

Xobni will face competition in its quest to improve online communications. All of the major Internet companies talk about making e-mail smarter and more socially aware. And Web e-mail services like Gmail and Hotmail are growing much more rapidly than the desktop-based Outlook, where Xobni is planting its flag, for now.

Sinsinawa is an unincorporated community in Grant County, Wisconsin. The community is in the Town of Jamestown, and the Town of Hazel Green, one mile north of the border with Illinois. The community is 7.5 miles east of Dubuque, Iowa and 6.5 miles west of the village of Hazel Green, Wisconsin. The town is best known for being the mother house of the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters.

The community’s name means either “rattlesnake” or “Home of the Young Eagle” in Sioux. The first white settler in the area was George Wallace Jones, who purchased land for a lead smelter in 1827. He soon sold the land to Samuel Mazzuchelli, who subsequently built a men’s college in 1846. Mazzuchelli founded the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters in 1847. This religious order founded a women’s college and high school in Sinsinawa in 1865.

Sinsinawa Mound is a cone-shaped hill in the area, from which the area gets its name. Sinsinawa Creek runs along the hill south towards the Fever River in Illinois.

The Sinsinawa Mound raid of June 29, 1832, part of the Black Hawk War, took place near Sinsinawa Mounds.
Sinsinawa Mound is committed to study, education, spirituality, and the arts. Through our programs and retreats, persons from many spiritual traditions are invited to experiences of intellectual, spiritual, and aesthetic awakening.

In the Sinsinawa Dominican tradition of hospitality, guests are refreshed and renewed by the time spent in the midst of our natural surroundings.

Located on 450 acres of lush woodlands, orchards, vineyards, fields, and gardens, Sinsinawa Mound offers an ideal atmoshpere for personal reflection, group retreats, corporate focusing, or organizational gatherings.
In a world graced by the Holy Spirit
and yet wounded by divisions,
exploitation, and oppression,
we are impelled by God’s tender mercy
to commit ourselves in partnership with others
to seek and foster right relationships
among all of God’s people
and with the earth that sustains us.

Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters are dedicated to preaching and teaching the Gospel. We believe that at the heart of ministry is relationship. Today, more than 600 Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters in the United States and abroad participate in the mission shared by all Dominicans: to proclaim the Gospel in word and deed. Currently, our missions outside the U.S. include Mexico, Bolivia, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Our home, Sinsinawa Mound, is located in southwest Wisconsin.

Constantine’s Sword

Constantine’s Sword: The Church and the Jews - A History is a controversial book by James P. Carroll, a former priest, who attributes to the Catholic Church a history of antisemitism and argues that this became the foundation for the hatred that led to the Holocaust perpetrated by the Nazis.

The book’s title refers to Constantine’s transformation of the cross into a sword with which to conquer non-Christians.

A documentary film of the same name, “Constantine’s Sword” based on the book is being shown at film festivals in August 2007. It is directed by Oren Jacoby, who is also listed as a producer, and written by James Carroll and Oren Jacoby, and the production company is Storyville Films.

Constantine’s Sword is the story of James Carroll; a former Catholic priest on a journey to confront his past and uncover the roots of religiously inspired violence and war. His search also reveals a growing scandal involving religious infiltration of the U.S. military and the terrible consequences of religion’s influence on America’s foreign policy.

Carroll focuses on Christian antisemitism as the model for all religious hatred, exposing the cross as a symbol of a long history of violence against Jews (and, most recently, Moslems). The film brings the history of religious intolerance to life, tracing it as a source of the fanaticism that threatens the world today. At its core, Constantine’s Sword is a compelling personal narrative — a kind of detective story — as one man uncovers the dark areas of his own past, searching for a better future.

Popemobile Facts

popemobile“Pope-mobile” is an informal name for the specially designed automobile (using the State City of Vatican registration plate “SCV 1″) that is used by the Pope during public appearances. Several models have been used: the first time Pope John Paul II traveled to his home country, the white painted vehicle (one of two made) was based on the Polish mark Star, a small truck from a firm in Starachowice with a speed of six kilometres per hour; A Ford Transit truck was converted in 1979 for Pope John Paul II’s first visit to UK, bigger than the one used today in the Vatican; yet another is a modified Mercedes-Benz with a small windowed “room” in the back where the Pope stands. Following the attempted assassination of Pope John Paul II in 1981, the pope-mobile was fitted with bulletproof glass on four sides. However, it was sometimes driven with open windows. In the early days of his papacy, Pope Benedict XVI used an open-topped vehicle.

Several vehicles used for the Pope’s overseas visits remain in the host country and were reused on his subsequent visits. The Mexican Papamóvil, for example, was brought out into the public during John Paul II’s funeral. Similarly, the Philippines automobile manufacturer Francisco Motors produced the custom popemobile for the 1995 Papal visit. It cost millions from voluntary contributions in the private sector and, as with the Irish vehicle, had bulletproof windows, bombproof parts, and it was inspected by the Swiss Guards with success. When John Paul II died, this pope-mobile was briefly borrowed by parish officials of the Quiapo Church for display. It became an instant pilgrimage site to ordinary Filipino devotees who could not afford to go to the Vatican for the Pope’s burial ceremonies.

Past and present popemobiles have been adapted Mercedes-Benz off-road vehicles. A converted 230 G Geländewagen was built for John Paul II’s visit to Germany in 1980. One of the current models is actually based on an M-Class sports-utility vehicle built in the United States. The ML430-based popemobile was presented to John Paul II in June 2002.

For John Paul II’s visit to England, Land Rover produced a specially-modified version of one of its vehicles, which now resides at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas. During the Pope’s visit to Canada in 1984, a modified GMC Sierra was used. It was subsequently used for the 1998 papal visit to Cuba and was briefly on display at the Canada Museum of Science and Technology in 2005. At some point during the 1980s, the pope-mobile was displayed at an event in England, however it was stolen by two young men and was never recovered.

Ford Motor Company also produced a series of popemobiles for the Vatican based on their presidential limos. For example, the custom built 1964 Lehmann-Peterson was used by Pope Paul VI in his 1965 New York visit and was reused in 1970 in Bogotá.

In 2006, an armor-plated popemobile used by John Paul II during his visit to Britain in 1982 was sold at auction for £37,000 ($70,500) in Scotland to a man from Ireland.

A Mercedes-Benz 230 G Popemobile (one of two built) has been retired and is currently on display at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, Germany.

In 2002, Pope John Paul II requested that the media stop referring to the car as the Popemobile, saying that the term is “undignified”.
On June 6, 2007, a German man tried to jump into Pope Benedict XVI’s uncovered popemobile as the pontiff began his general audience. The pope was not hurt and did not even appear to notice that the 27 year-old man had jumped over the protective barrier in the square and had grabbed onto the white Fiat popemobile as it drove by. At least eight security officers who were trailing the vehicle as it moved slowly through the square grabbed the man and wrestled him to the ground. The man was interrogated by Vatican police and then taken to a hospital for psychiatric treatment.
According to a number of sources, the original Pope Mobile was a modified Range Rover. But after conducting a number of searches and uncovering images of a variety of vehicles, including a Mercedes Benz and a six-wheel drive Leyland T 45 used to transport the pope, we concluded that there is no single papal vehicle these days. It appears his Holiness uses different cars in different countries.

References to various types of Pope Mobiles turned up all over the Web. From a Russian news site, we learned that the “third model,” whatever it is, was produced by a Polish company and is powered by a noiseless electric engine. While a post on UrbanDictionary.com informed us that at least one model of the Pope Mobile was made in Letchworth, England.

h264 codec

  • Author: Razvan Pirnac

  • Date: Apr 5,2008

H.264 is a standard for video compression. It is also known as MPEG-4 Part 10, or MPEG-4 AVC (for Advanced Video Coding). It was written by the ITU-T Video Coding Experts Group (VCEG) together with the ISO/IEC Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) as the product of a partnership effort known as the Joint Video Team (JVT). The ITU-T H.264 standard and the ISO/IEC MPEG-4 Part 10 standard are jointly maintained so that they have identical technical content. The final drafting work on the first version of the standard was completed in May 2003.
The intent of the H.264/AVC project was to create a standard capable of providing good video quality at substantially lower bit rates than previous standards (e.g. half or less the bit rate of MPEG-2, H.263, or MPEG-4 Part 2), without increasing the complexity of design so much that it would be impractical or excessively expensive to implement. An additional goal was to provide enough flexibility to allow the standard to be applied to a wide variety of applications on a wide variety of networks and systems, including low and high bit rates, low and high resolution video, broadcast, DVD storage, RTP/IP packet networks, and ITU-T multimedia telephony systems.
H.264/AVC/MPEG-4 Part 10 contains a number of new features that allow it to compress video much more effectively than older standards and to provide more flexibility for application to a wide variety of network environments.
Versions of the H.264/AVC standard include the following completed revisions, corrigenda, and amendments (dates are final approval dates in ITU-T, while final “International Standard” approval dates in ISO/IEC are somewhat different and slightly later in most cases). Each version represents changes relative to the next lower version that is integrated into the text. Bold faced versions are published (or planned to be published).

* 1. Version (May 2003) First approved version of H.264/AVC containing Baseline, Extended, and Main profiles.
* 2. Version (May 2004) Corrigendum containing various minor corrections.
* 3. Version (March 2005) Major addition to H.264/AVC containing the first Amendment providing Fidelity Range Extensions (FRExt) containing High, High 10, High 4:2:2, and High 4:4:4 profiles.
* 4. Version (September 2005) Corrigendum containing various minor corrections and adding three aspect ratio indicators.
* 5. Version (June 2006) Amendment consisting of removal of prior High 4:4:4 profile (processed as a corrigendum in ISO/IEC)
* 6. Version (June 2006) Amendment consisting of minor extensions like extended-gamut color space support (bundled with above-mentioned aspect ratio indicators in ISO/IEC).
* 7. Version (April 2007) Amendment containing the addition of High 4:4:4 Predictive and four Intra-only profiles (High 10 Intra, High 4:2:2 Intra, High 4:4:4 Intra, and CAVLC 4:4:4 Intra).
* 8. Version (November 2007) Major addition to H.264/AVC containing the Amendment for Scalable Video Coding (SVC) containing Scalable Baseline, Scalable High, and Scalable High Intra profiles.

H.264/AVC experienced widespread adoption within a few years of the completion of the standard. It is employed widely in applications ranging from television broadcast to video for mobile devices. In order to ensure compatibility and problem-free adoption of H.264/AVC, many standards bodies have amended or added to video standards so that users of these standards can employ H.264/AVC.

Martin Luther King Day

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a United States holiday marking the birthdate of the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr., observed on the third Monday of January each year, around the time of King’s birthday, January 15. It is one of four United States federal holidays to commemorate an individual person. King was the chief spokesman of the nonviolent civil rights movement, which successfully protested racial discrimination in federal and state law. He was assassinated in 1968.

The campaign for a federal holiday in King’s honor began soon after his assassination. Ronald Reagan signed the holiday into law in 1983, and it was first observed in 1986. At first, some states resisted observing the holiday as such, giving it alternative names or combining it with other holidays. It was officially observed in all 50 states for the first time in 2000.
Since Martin Luther King, Jr.’s, assassination 40 years ago, his murder has become endless fodder for conspiracy theorists. Complete with shadowy film noir atmospherics and sensational charges leveled at the highest circles of power, the King conspiracy theories rival the most crazed accounts of Kennedy’s assassination.

These theories gained renewed momentum when King’s son Dexter met with his father’s convicted assassin in prison in 1997. With the blessings of King’s widow and the other King children, Dexter King shook James Earl Ray’s hand and professed belief in his innocence.
he following is an excerpt from the speech entitled “I Have a Dream,” delivered by Dr. Martin Luther King on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on August 23, 1963.

Travel Description Essay

Following is a descriptive essay which present a travel to Norway.

First of all, I have to say that I like a lot to travel. No matter by which transportation method, I am feeling very good when I start a new journey to a new place. Until now, I visited a few countries, and all my journeys were nice and full of joy.

But, one experience I remember very well. All happened a few years ago, when I was going to visit Norway. In the morning of departure I was very anxious about that, because I like very much the northern countries and their culture. I leave Romania with a plane, in a sunny morning of August. After 3 hours and a half, I landed in Copenhagen, Denmark. I was impressed by the enormous airport terminals from there. The airport is a state of the art piece of architecture. It took me almost an hour to pass the terminal, and I took the subway to exit from airport to the city. The city is fabulous, with large streets, nice people and with a clean look. But, I had no time to visit the city, because I had to continue my journey to Norway. I looked for the ferryboat station on the map, but I did not found it, so I asked a lady, who gave me the directions. It was 4 km away so, I went to it in a bus. The bus was very free, clean and peaceful. In 2 minutes I arrived to the ferryboat. This was the moment I was shocked. I looked to it, and I saw a huge “city on water”. The ferryboat was colossal. It had 4 levels. The first level was assigned for trains. In that level, entered 4 trains, and every train which 12 wagons. The second level was assigned for cars and trucks, and in the latest levels were shops, entertainment centers, an hospital, a swimming pool and a lot of space for walk. The journey from Denmark to Norway took 3 hours, but those hours I think I will never forget. I saw the sun which went behind the water; it seems like the sun drowned in the sea. I felt very well on the sea, and I would repeat the experience anytime. I arrived in Norway in the night, and I can say that is like Denmark, with same large streets and same cleanliness.

I recommend to you to visit the northern countries because you will have what to see. These countries are different, have something special in comparison with the continental ones.

April Fools Day Jokes

Fools Day History

In France today, April 1st is called Poisson d’Avril, which means April Fish. Children tape paper fish to their friends’ backs and when the young “fool” finds out, the prankster yells “Poisson d’Avril!” In England, tricks can only be played in the morning. If a trick is played on you, you are a “noodle.” In Scotland, you are called an “April gowk,” which is another name for a cuckoo bird. In Portugal, April Fools’ is celebrated on the Sunday and Monday before Lent. Pranksters usually throw flour at their friends.
April fools we be to fall for the practical jokes, hoaxes and pranks on April 1, the one holiday of the year we should be expecting shenanigans. April fools come in various kinds, sizes, colors and ethnicities. We’re big and small and fat and slim and yes even smart most of the time. But this one holiday a year we can be caught off-guard. Enjoy the practical jokes, gag gifts, pranks and hoaxes and april fools tomfoolery this site has to offer.

April Showers

If you have a sink with a sprayer, put a rubber band around the handle when nobody’s looking. This automatically keeps the nozzle in spray-mode. Make sure the nozzle is pointing up and outward. The next person to use the sink will get a splash! Too funny!

Spare Change

This April Fool’s practical joke is old but it still works. Superglue some coins to the sidewalk or any spot that has a lot of people walking around. Make sure it’s an appropriate place, then watch people break fingernails to get the coins.

One Sick Joke

Fill a hot water bottle with blended leftovers or even pea soup. Keep the bottle hidden under your shirt near your chest and makea trip to the cafeteria. Your friends need to be in on this prank. When the cafeteria is full, make a loud noise to attract attention, bend over the table and squeeze the bottle. Your sludge should spew out all over the table like you’ve just thrown up.

Look What I can Do!

Ask your victim, er.. friend to put a quarter on a piece of paper and, without removing their finger, trace the coin with a pencil. Repeat the “test” with a few fingers. After that’s done, get the victim to pick up the quarter and roll it along the bridge of their nose. Then quietly snicker behind their back as they walk around with a black line along their nose. Don’t use a permanent marker cuz that’s not cool.

Got Milk?

If your milk comes in a cardboard container, add a few drops of food coloring. It’s harmless April Fool’s joke but the results are pretty colorful.

Fools Day in the World

In Iran, people play jokes on each other on April 3, the 13th day of the Persian calendar new year (Norouz). This day is called “Sizdah bedar” (Outdoor thirteen). It is believed that people should go out on this date in order to escape the bad luck of number 13. “Sizdah bedar” is the oldest prank-tradition in the world still alive today, which has led many to believe that the origins of the April Fools Day goes back to this tradition which is believed to have been celebrated by Persians as far back as 536 BC.
The April 1 tradition in France includes poisson d’avril (literally “April’s fish”), attempting to attach a paper fish to the victim’s back without being noticed. This is also widespread in other nations, such as Italy (where the term pesce d’aprile (literally “April’s fish”) is also used to refer to any jokes done during the day).
In Spanish-speaking countries, similar pranks are practiced on December 28, the Day of the Holy Innocents. This custom also exists in certain areas of Belgium, including the province of Antwerp. The Flemish tradition is for children to lock out their parents or teachers, only letting them in if they promise to bring treats the same evening or the next day.
In some countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, the April 1 tradition requires jokes to be played before midday: if somebody pulls an April Fools’ Trick after midday, then the person pulling the trick is actually considered the fool.
In Denmark the 1st of May is known as “Maj-kat”, meaning quite simply “May-cat”, and is identical to April Fools’ day, though Danes also celebrate April Fools’ day (”aprilsnar”).
Some Jewish communities have a traditional event called a Purim spiel, which is similar in many ways to April Fools’ Day. Fake newspaper articles are common.
