Tom Lantos Death

Tom Lantos (February 1, 1928 â February 11, 2008) was a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives from 1981 until his death, representing the northern two-thirds of San Mateo County and a small portion of southwest San Francisco.
Lantos had announced in early January that he would not run for reelection in 2008 because of cancer of the esophagus.
Tom Lantos died on February 12 due to complications from cancer at Bethesda Naval Medical Center, at the age of 80.
